Oh Tacoma... with your barbed wire fences in china town.
When I'm old and need the assistance of wheeled mechanisms... I truly hope I have a friend by my side... so we can sit wearing hats, on a sidewalk, watching the fools stuck in traffic.
This makes me think of how blessed I am to have sisters (of course I also love my brother who is the sweetest guy ever). But I could see my sisters hanging out in our retirement days just people watching.
We couldn't be more different than each other. Our lives are as varied as our ages ranging from 16-34. But we will always have each others backs. They support me in all my crazy endeavors and vice versa! I want nothing more than to see my family happy and blessed!
Sending Kyli, Melyssa, and Bec lots of love!
You have been a full month of witnessing declarations of love! I've truly enjoyed the side hustle of coordinating & officiating these special events. It is always a challenge to see that the couples vision becomes reality. It looks like juggling all the details, connecting with some talented and amazing vendors, running in circles around a venue, laughing hysterically at all the overage dancing (you go Gramps & Gran), ensuring cleanup is complete, and then removing my shoes, popping some Advil, and letting out a huge sigh of satisfaction in a job well done at the end of the night. These will probably be my last weddings for a while... I've been honored to take part. Wishing the happy couples all the blessings!
I am so proud to call Champions Centre my home church! As a faith community we take serving our city serious! Through Champions Foundation teams of volunteers serve people and overlooked areas in need all year long!
This was my second year serving the Clean Up Tacoma event! It was a beautiful sunny day perfect for connecting with our neighbors! We achieved the goal of over 100 volunteers and we connected with over 600 people in our neighborhood! Here are some fun wins:
· This year we had 606 customers, plus over 50 from our ‘pick-up’ crews.
· 79 containers, (30 cu yd dumpsters) were filled.
· 117.47 tons of waste, (last year was 98 tons).
· 20 refrigerators.
· 416 tires.
Now our city is cleaner, safer and better than before!
